One of the most commonly asked questions is "How do I connect to my Shell with RDC?".

To use a Remote Desktop Connection with your Shell:

  2. Within your Shell, enable remote connections.
To enable remote connections, open up your Settings:

  3. Select System.

  4. Type Remote in the option box and select Remote Desktop Settings.

  5. Toggle Enable Remote Desktop to On and accept the confirmation.

  6. From the Windows search bar, type Firewall and select Allow an app through Windows Firewall.

  7. Ensure Remote Desktop is enabled for Private and Public.

  8. From the Windows search bar type CMD and open the Command Prompt.

  9. Type whoami and note the response. This is your username.

  10. Type ipconfig and note the response. The Default Gateway IP is required for MacOs remote connections.

  11. On your local machine, open your Remote Desktop Connection.

  12. Click Show Options. Add your Shell IP address under Computer and your username under Username. Click Allow me to save credentials if preferred.

  13. If using a MacOS device, the Gateway address is the Default Gateway IP.
  14. Click Connect. If a successful connection is made, you will be prompted for the Username password (same as login password).
