Hello all, Mr S here back with another outlook on things!

In today’s society, things are ever changing, ever growing, but what’s seemingly one of the major issues is: It’s not adapting. People are showing just as much productivity, and then some working remotely according to some article.

Remote vs Office

Unless you’re a board member or need to speak about critical internals of a company or organization, let’s just go ahead and agree – Feel free to disagree with my argument and tweet us at How to Get a Shell from Shells

Working remotely is far superior than waking up, cramming in the morning to make sure the family is okay, preparing ourselves mentally, and then on to the endless driving. Spending the $20+ on a quarter tank of gas to go from your home office of sitting behind a computer or set up devices to going somewhere else where you’ll be sitting in front of another computer and another set of devices.

Doesn’t seem ideal, does it?

The office problem…

Work Balance should never be against personal balance, and that’s where the power of today’s tech is at, and attempting to adapt to it has been quite silly from the observer’s point of view.

Many businesses fear remote work because it interrupts tradition, but ultimately many only ever accounted and budgeted for computers, IT setups, office management, and were hit off guard with the COVID spikes.

Many of these companies can’t afford to give every employee a new device, that they risk never being returned, or damaged. Many organizations face these problems every day, and it all comes down to: How do we get everybody together, and how do we ensure everybody’s working together?

The Work Reform Culture

Well, one way or another, everybody’s working together. No matter how you look at the scenario. Whether they're in the office or at home, they all want the same thing. But what can you do? Well.....

Adjust with it.
Know that your contractors and employees truly woke up to the fact that going to an office has proven illogical, even from a business standpoint due to the Reddit anti work culture and the ‘great awakening’ work reform communities forming all over Twitter, Facebook, Discord, and other communities.

In your next quarter prepare to “Know your employee” here are some things for a business that would better interact with their employees needs:

  • Anonymous Surveys about Work Culture
  • Look in to the best VDI and remote desktop solutions as possible
  • Utilize the best tools best used for running your organization. Currently, Discord and Telegram make it insanely easy for me to group people together, tell them what’s going on and hop in to a video call. I call it the remote huddle.
  • Be about it. Your workers deserve better.

Adjusting with it IS always possible, some remote solutions for employers to best engaged themselves with their workers, management, and other resources.

Some tools for the job to get you going, should you be at a point of disagreement.

  • Trello for team board organization and task and milestone assignment.
  • Google Docs for documents, presentation, and a good open source alternative named CryptPad
  • Mumble for secure voice meetings you don’t want listening ears on
  • Virtual desktops and Virtual work spaces offered by cloud providers. Your employees may have old laptops, or only tablets but may have a job to do with an app only available to computers. With VDI solutions and remote desktop management you can pay the $10-15 fee instead of giving them a full on $3,000 work computer to utilize at home.
  • Move absolutely ALL contact to remote among your management, so that you can get to it first.

Let’s pause for a second and take a glimpse back. Looks too easy to be true. It really is that easy to disarm the thoughts of needing to be in an office, forcing everybody against their wishes, when data shows working remote is an all industry standard for communications and organization and actually saves time and money.
