The pandemic has hit everyone hard. You can’t spend time with your friends, go to the movies or even meet for dinner. Some have turned to online gaming to meet and hang out with friends. But this comes with its own challenges. You may not be able to all get into the same lobby or may have to share your world with others. Creating your own private gaming server will allow you to game in peace with just your friends. Most high-end gaming servers can cost hundreds of dollars and the game could be managed by that company as well. Building your own desktop to manage your gaming server can get quite expensive as well.
Shells™ desktops can handle any game server. You can give your Shells™ as much power as you need. I wanted to test this out. I tested this performance by running one of the most resource-intensive gaming servers I could think of, Minecraft! Minecraft requires a lot of RAM and will eat up all the processing power a computer has. In addition, Minecraft is saving the world as you play, so if your disk is slow, it will cause severe bottlenecks.
So I took my basic Shells™ and turned it into a Minecraft server. When I connected to my world, I put the render distance to high and maxed out all the settings. I didn’t have any lag or any other performance issues. The game ran smoothly. Even when I had multiple accounts logged into the server, there were no issues in gameplay. Next, I put the server to a real test and loaded an old world that had been built up by hundreds of people. Anyone who plays Minecraft knows how laggy such a world can be and how much power it requires to keep it playable. I logged in to that world and found that it was playable. The lag on the most built-up parts of that world was minimal.
Shells can handle any game server you want to turn it in to. If you want a fully customizable gaming server for only you and your friends without having to break the bank then Shells™ is the way to go.
